Goal | Support high risk and low performing students through mentorship. |
Description | I am excited to announce that I am spearheading a mentoring initiative at Anderson Middle School this coming school year (24-25). We are focusing on some of our highflyer students that have behavior and academic concerns. Our admin team and teachers will have an opportunity to see these students weekly and check-in with them. I will host 2 to 3 meal opportunities including a breakfast and a lunch field trip. Mentors and Mentees will be given a nice polo mentoring Shirt to wear on designated days. We will also ensure that students have the necessary items to be successful in class (writing utensils, backpacks, folders, and paper). Our goal is to ensure that this delicate population receives the additional attention and support that they need to be successful. I am writing to ask for any support that you might have available that would support our students. Currently, we have identified 30 student that should be mentored |
Benefits | There will be a decrease in referrals, improvement in behavior and academics. |
