The goal is to purchase 50 digital translation devices to be used for our large English Language Learner population to increase student involvement in the classroom, during extra curricular activities and to increase parent engagement and communication with our school.

We would like to use these devices to open doors to our ELL students and their families both in and out of the classroom. Teachers would be able to check out these devices to help communicate with students during their lessons. Students would also be able to check out the devices when participating in after school activities. Oftentimes our students are intimidated to try out for an athletic team or join a club for fear of not understanding the language. We would also use the device to help our parents and teachers to communicate and remove the barrier of finding a translator for every meeting. We believe opening these doors of communication will help us to better engage with our school community and keep students and parents better informed on student progress and options.
