| Goal | The goal of the Rockin' Robotics project is to purchase 1 LEGO SPIKE Prime Classroom pack which includes, 15 LEGO SPIKE robotics kits and 15 Expansion kits. By purchasing these 15 kits it will tremendously help reduce the student group size from 5-6 per kits down to 2-3 per kit. Currently, I am sharing 15 kits between 6 classes/125 students each day. |
| Description | The Rockin' Robotics program, would help equip Hidden Oaks Middle School with opportunities to learn robotics and coding. Middle school students love solving real-world problems using the LEGO Spike Prime kits! Students will be able to work in small groups to build, program, test, modify, and retest solutions. The SPIKE Prime STEAM sets continuously engage students through playful learning activities to think critically and solve complex problems. If this program is funded, Hidden Oaks Middle School students will have the opportunity of easy-entry projects to limitless creative design possibilities, including the option to explore text-based coding with Python. SPIKE Prime helps students learn the essential STEAM and 21st century skills needed to become the innovative minds of tomorrow... while having fun! |
| Benefits | If the Rockin' Robotics project is lucky enough to be funded, each year 250+ 6-8th grade boys & girls would benefit. Each day, 125 students would have the opportunity to engage in STEAM and 21st century skills, such as team collaborations, engineering design process, critical thinking, coding/programming, and real-world problem solving. Opportunities like these create playful learning and enrichment while growing confidence in 21st century skills that lead to STEAM careers. |
