Description | Kids select a word card and touch the textured dots as they say each sound. Then they read the full word and find its matching picture card. After practicing in isolation, students practice reading in context with sentences to build automaticity and fluency. These resources align with best instructional practices and routines identified in Science of Reading research. |
Benefits | Hands on literacy games are fantastic tools for helping kid develop early reading skills. It makes learning fun and interactive, which increases engagement and motivation. The multi-sensory learning strengthens their recognition of individual letters and their forms. These cards will introduce ELL students to new vocabulary through repetition and exploration. The hands-on activities are more likely to stick in long-term memory because they are both engaging and require active participation. Also, these games will give students a chance to experiment and practice without pressure, which builds their confidence. As they succeed, they will feel more independent in their learning, boosting their interest in reading and languages. |
